Moving On

This is the last post to be published in  “A McCain Democrat’s Journal.”  After this, I will be posting my political screeds and “journal” entries exclusively on American Sentinel for the duration.  This site will stay up, if only because there are many links coming in to it from elsewhere; and I will eventually have up-to-date archives on my home Web site, Backcountry Notes.

This is not a huge change, since I have been posting part-time on American Sentinel since June.  When I send out notifications of new articles, they will contain direct links to the article as always.  On the American Sentinel home page there is a list of authors and you can bring up everything by an author by clicking his or her name.

Meanwhile, if anyone gets nostalgic for the good old days, I am including below a listing of The Best Of A McCain Democrat’s Journal.  Thanks for reading.

As the Obamaphiles’ Orgy Of Sexist Attacks continues, providing much grist for my mill, some of the leftcrazies are beginning to realize that the attacks on Sarah Palin are counter-productive.  Even Arrianna Puffington now advises that her minions lay off Palin and attack John McCain.  Well, in all the excitement, I have overlooked a deserving “Piggy” recipient, and to make up for that, today’s winnah is – -

Sexist Pig Of The Day Award . . . REJECTED?!?!?

How can this be?  Why, Sally Quinn . . . why? What moved you to reject your coveted “Piggy?”  Oh . . . actually having the chance to see and hear Sarah Palin.  Good enough.

For those of you who missed it, Sexist Pig Of The Day Award winner Sally Quinn visited the Bill O’Reilly show on Friday evening (September 5) and ate a piece of humble pie.  Better yet – - she made the jackasses at “News Hounds” look like . . . well, jackasses (see Sally Quinn Too Smooth For Bill O’Reilly’s Nonsense). Okay, Sally, you’re out of the sty.

Sarah Palin versus The Establishment Elite

There is a subtext to the excoriation of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin which many folks don’t see.  Yes, she’s being attacked because she’s a woman; but WHY have the Democrats and the left-wing media, along with a few others, mounted such a vicious, concerted attack on Palin? The answer is that McCain and Palin have violated the rules of the Establishment elite and they are considered a clear and present danger to that group’s dominance of American politics and government.

So who do I mean when I refer to the “Establishment elite?” It is not some dark-of-the-night “conspiracy,” but a group of persons who consider themselves to be, to use John F. Kennedy’s term, “the best and the brightest.”  They are the flip side of the concept of “entitlement” – - they believe that they are entitled to govern.  The core of this group consists of graduates of the Ivy League universities – - Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton and Yale – - although a few others are allowed in the “club,” for example, Northwestern and Stanford.

 

Report From A Bible-Clingy Small Town

I live in a town of 4,000-odd residents and work in another town a few miles away, also about 4,000 residents.  When you add the two together, you have a place that is still smaller than the town of Wasilla, Alaska.  The folks here are the “clingy” types – - Bibles, guns, traditional values, and other things that are out of fashion elsewhere, it appears.  A lot of politicking is done by face-to-face contact – - most of it, really; so when I’m in a mood to round up another vote or two for John McCain, I go down the street to the post office or the court house and start up conversations.

Decisions, decisions . . . so many oinkers, so little time.   But really, one stands out above the crowd . . . and just to show I’M not sexist, today’s winnah is – -

First, here’s a little sample of Quinn’s prose:  “Not only do we have a woman with five children, including an infant with special needs, but a woman whose 17-year-old child will need her even more in the coming months. Not to mention the grandchild. This would inevitably be an enormous distraction for a new vice president (or president) in a time of global turmoil. Not only in terms of her job, but from a media standpoint as well.”  Well, last night Sally Quinn went on O’Reilly’s show and made a complete sexist pig fool of herself – - Bill tried to get her to explain this mess, and all she could do was repeat it.

Yes, folks, the venerable New York Times, back from its doldrums, is declared the winner for running THREE front-page stories on Sarah Palin’s family.  That’s more coverage than the Times gave the Titanic!

Shame and Disgust

I’m taking suggestions for renaming my Weblog.  After witnessing the disgraceful orgy of slander and lies in which the Democratic Party engaged this weekend, the only emotions I can muster are shame and disgust.

The term “Swiftboating” is inadequate to describe the Democrats’ reaction to Gov. Sarah Palin. They and their media sponsors rolled out the entire fleet:  battleships DSS Libel and DSS Lies; aircraft carrier DSS Slander; gunboats DSS Innuendo, DSS Smear, and DSS Slime.  The hypocrisy of their sniveling about “Swiftboating” has been fully revealed.
