If you’re not familiar with Charles Krauthammer, you need to start reading his articles. Politically eclectic, like yours truly, Krauthammer observes the 2008 Presidential race from a unique perspective – - and he has Barack Obama sighted directly in the cross-hairs of his scope.
Krauthammer is a remarkable person who overcame a serious injury to finish his medical school education, practice psychiatry, and then write so well that he won a Pulitzer Prize. Born in New York City, Krauthammer spent most of his childhood in Montreal, Canada. During his first year of medical school, he was paralyzed in a traffic accident; he continued his studies during a year-long hospitalization, graduated from Harvard Medical School with his class, and practiced psychiatry for several years before going to work for the Jimmy Carter administration. After writing speeches for Walter Mondale and articles for the New Republic and for Time magazine, Krauthammer began writing a weekly column for the Washington Post in 1985; he won the Pulitzer for that column, which he still writes.
Krauthammer plainly sees that Barack Obama has strongly narcissistic personality traits and his columns on Obama reflect that observation. Listed here are a few of Krauthammer’s pieces which I recommend.
OBAMA’S GREATEST ADMIRER. “What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. . . . what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop?” “There’s nothing new about narcissism in politics. . . . Nonetheless, has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?”
THE SPEECH: A BRILLIANT FRAUD. “Why didn’t he leave . . . a pastor who thundered not once but three times from the pulpit (on a DVD the church proudly sells) ‘God damn America’? Obama’s 5,000-word speech, fawned over as a great meditation on race, is little more than an elegantly crafted, brilliantly sophistic justification of that scandalous dereliction.”
THE ‘RACE’ SPEECH REVISITED. ” Obama’s turning surprise about Wright into something to be counted against whites– one of the more clever devices in that shameful, brilliantly executed, 5,000-word intellectual fraud in Philadelphia — now stands discredited by Obama’s own admission of surprise.”
A MAN OF SEASONAL PRINCIPLES. “Obama’s seasonally adjusted principles are beginning to pile up: NAFTA, campaign finance reform, warrantless wiretaps, flag pins, gun control. What’s left?”
THE EVER-MALLEABLE MR. OBAMA. “Obama’s long march to the center has begun.”

Most of us know who Charles Krauthammer is. However, the way you worded your first couple sentences allows one to see intent behind the words. You said, ***”If you’re not familiar with Charles Krauthammer, you need to start reading his articles. Politically eclectic, like yours truly, Krauthammer observes the 2008 Presidential race from a unique perspective – - and he has Barack Obama sighted directly in the cross-hairs of his scope.”***

“Cross-hairs”? Interesting word choice. Personally, I do not see Krauthammer’s statements to be “politically eclectic”.

I thought of several other remarks on your topic, but rather than make a lengthy comment…I addressed it in a post I just published.

michelle: Sorry, but you don’t get to keep the word “eclectic” for yourself – - nice picture on your blog site, by the way. Krauthammer has been praised and condemned, depending on one’s viewpoint, as a “liberal,” a “conservative,” and a “neoconservative.” He is one of those rare columnists who has managed to cheese off everyone at some time or another. He has worked in various capacities with Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, and George W. Bush. He is pro-Bush concerning the Iraq war, but opposes Bush in many other areas. He supports of legalized abortion; opposes the death penalty; is a critic of intelligent design theory; and opposed the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. I think his views qualify as “eclectic.” Perhaps you think that because he is critical of Barack Obama, he is in league with the Republican Party; I seriously don’t think so. Krauthammer means what he says, says what he means, and is never dogmatic. My kind of guy.
Because you were kind enough to invite me to your site, I am pleased to invite you to mine – - although, I must caution you, this might not be what you want to hear.

I want to thank you for taking a look at my site and leaving a response. Having lived outside the USA for so long…has taught me much. Yet, I must confess, when I moved back home, it was to a nation that was hardly recognizable (my own opinion). I never disregard someones viewpoint, and at no time would I intentionally be disrespectful and I trust it didn’t come across that way.
Personally, I enjoy listening to what others have to say. That’s one of the things that makes this the ABSOLUTE greatest nation on the planet. That may seem a bit much…but after entering numerous nations across four continents, I can say this with the utmost confidence

PS. I chose the word “eclectic” as there are so many topics that interest me

If the latter, please accept my apologies in advance.
